SAN DIEGO — Five weeks after falling out of a fishing boat off the coast of Southern California, a puppy was reunited with her family in San Diego.
A one-and-half-year-old German shepherd, Luna, was presumed to be lost at sea after falling overboard at Naval Auxiliary Landing Field San Clemente Island in early February.
Naval staff at SCI searched the island for the animal, while the dog’s owner, Nick Hayworth, stayed out at sea for two days. Both searches came up empty.
Luna was found Tuesday near a road on the island, according to NBC San Diego. She was returned to the owner on Wednesday.
