One of three soldiers who were aboard an Army UH-60 Black Hawk that crashed in southern Maryland on Monday has been medevaced from the scene, according to officials.
The helicopter had a so-called hard landing just before 2 p.m., according to Joe Richard, a spokesman for Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where the crew is assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion.
It appears the helicopter landed on a golf course near Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, Richard told Army Times, though he could not confirm the crew’s flight plan.
“Circumstances and situations will change, but what we have on the Facebook is what we can confirm right now,” he said.
