As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, we are reminded that America’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and an enduring commitment to the ideals of freedom and opportunity. Those same values live on today, especially in the Servicemembers who defend our nation and protect those freedoms.

As America marks 250 years, organizations like Homes For Our Troops serve as powerful reminders that supporting our Veterans is not just an act of gratitude or charity—it’s our opportunity to honor service through action.

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, blindness, severe burns, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).

The gift of a specially adapted custom home restores safety and independence, enabling each Veteran to move forward, accomplish remarkable things, and build a meaningful post-service life and lasting legacy.

Since 2004, HFOT has built and donated over 440 homes in 46 states, while nearly 90 cents out of every dollar spent has gone directly to program services for Veterans.

To continue making this impact, from July 1 through July 14, join Homes For Our Troops in a special fundraising effort to support our important mission. Together, we are working toward a goal of raising $1 million in just 14 days to advance our mission of Building Homes and Rebuilding Lives for the brave men and women who served our country.

Thanks to a generous match of more than half a million dollars, every donation you make will go twice as far, courtesy of dedicated corporate partners and individual mission supporters.

This is your opportunity to honor service through action, carry the legacy forward and give in support of those who sacrificed for our freedom.

As a top-rated Veteran and military charity, Homes For Our Troops is 100% publicly funded, with nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent directly supporting our programs. Donations go directly towards advancing our mission of providing safe and secure homes for the 68 active home-build projects currently in various stages of construction nationwide. There are nearly 1,800 severely injured post-9/11 Veterans across the country still in need of adapted housing. Our goal is to provide a home to every Veteran who qualifies for one.

Rebuilding Lives is the most important aspect of HFOT’s mission; therefore, the organization stays in contact with Veterans after home delivery. Empowered by the freedom of a specially adapted custom home, these injured Veterans can now focus on their recovery while embarking on new careers, completing college degrees, and starting families.

Please join us in this critical mission. Your generosity builds more than homes— it builds hope, independence, and a new beginning for those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

Since the organization’s inception in 2004, HFOT has built and donated over 410 homes in 45 states, while nearly 90 cents out of every dollar spent has gone directly to program services for Veterans. HFOT currently has 75 active home-build projects in various stages of construction nationwide.

Each of HFOT’s specially adapted custom homes for injured Veterans is equipped with over 40 major special adaptations and exceeds ADA standards, providing full accessibility for the Veteran. Homes For Our Troops provides a pro-bono financial planner for three years to assist in financial planning and household budgeting. HFOT also provides homeownership education and warranty coverage to ensure that the Veteran is set up for long-term success as a homeowner.

Rebuilding Lives is the most important aspect of HFOT’s mission; therefore, the organization stays in contact with Veterans after home delivery. Empowered by the freedom a specially adapted, mortgage-free home provides, these injured Veterans can now focus on their recovery while embarking on new careers, completing college degrees, and starting families.

“I am forever grateful to Homes For Our Troops for this incredible specially adapted custom home. It’s so much more than just a house—it’s a life-changing gift that has restored my independence, comfort, and peace of mind. Words can’t fully express what this means to me, but what I do know is this: it’s helping me climb back up the mountain, one step at a time,” says 2024 HFOT home recipient Navy HM3 Adrian Walker.

There are more than 150 Veterans in the application process for our program for severely injured Veterans. As a top-rated military and Veterans’ nonprofit organization, Homes For Our Troops relies on the generosity of donors and supporters.

Missed Homes For Our Troops 7th Annual Day of Giving on July 14? There’s still time to make an impact on the lives of severely injured Veterans and their families! Help us celebrate our mission of Building Homes, Rebuilding Lives by donating today.

Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents out of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
