Michelle Tucker, spokeswoman for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnatra.navy.mil\/\" target=_blank>Chief of Naval Air Training<\/a>, told Navy Times that the probe involves unspecified allegations of misconduct that came to light last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAllegations of misconduct are taken very seriously by the Navy but it would be inappropriate at this time to comment on an ongoing investigation,\u201d Tucker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tucker declined to say whether the member of the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron \u2014 the unit\u2019s official name \u2014 is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueangels.navy.mil\/team\/officers.asp\" target=_blank>a tactical aviator <\/a>or part of the support and maintenance crew \u2014 but the removed person does not appear to be a \u201cnumbered\u201d pilot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueangels.navy.mil\/team\/officers.asp\" target=_blank>six aviators<\/a> \u2014 currently five from the Navy and one from the Marine Corps \u2015 who perform in the airshows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commanders have halted this unnamed person\u2019s activities with the Blue Angels while the team continues to conduct winter training at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnic.navy.mil\/regions\/cnrsw\/installations\/naf_el_centro.html\" target=_blank>Naval Air Facility El Centro<\/a> for the upcoming show season, Tucker said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Navy annually counts 16 officers who volunteer for the team and they\u2019re supported by nearly 100 enlisted sailors and Marines.
