WASHINGTON \u2014 President Donald Trump is set to unveil his first National Security Strategy next Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National security adviser H.R. McMaster said the strategy will incorporate four core national interests: the protection of American people; advancing American prosperity; \u201cpreserving peace through strength\u201d; and advancing American influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking with his British counterpart Tuesday at an event hosted by the British think tank Policy Exchange, McMaster said \u201cgeopolitics are back and they are back with a vengeance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the document will reflect Trump\u2019s desire to bolster engagement with other countries under the framework of \u201ccooperation with reciprocity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McMaster said the strategy will identify global threats to the United States and its interests, including \u201crevisionist powers\u201d like Russia and China, \u201crogue regimes\u201d like Iran and North Korea, and non-state terrorist groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
