(Jeff Martin\/Staff)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 For decades, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/off-duty\/gearscout\/2018\/05\/14\/want-a-genuine-us-military-surplus-1911-heres-finally-how-you-can-get-one\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">troops <\/a>traveling in a Black Hawk helicopter to or from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinecorpstimes.com\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2018\/05\/29\/this-is-the-laser-that-marines-have-chosen-to-dazzle-hail-and-warn\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">mission <\/a>had little keeping them in the aircraft except for a web strap or some modified version of that gear with a bungee-type cord for maneuverability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Climbing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2018\/05\/10\/the-us-military-could-replace-the-m240-and-legendary-ma-deuce-a-lot-sooner-than-you-think\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">gear <\/a>company Petzl debuted a new device at the annual National Defense Industrial Association\u2019s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference that should solve that problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HELO ADJUST is a one-handed adjustable tether device that allows riders to hook in, unhook, adjust length, and use a single motion quick-release if they have to get out in a hurry.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/marinecorpstimes\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2018\/05\/24\/this-is-the-scope-chosen-for-the-newest-marine-corps-sniper-rifle\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Nightforce-Marine3.JPG.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">This is the scope chosen for the newest Marine Corps sniper rifle<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">Marine snipers could have them in their inventory as soon as June.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Petty, regional sales manager for Petzl, demonstrated how the rope provides more protection from fraying than web straps.
