ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Lockheed Martin has delivered the first automated electronic support system to the U.S. Navy to help maximize aircraft readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The security and aerospace company announced delivery this week at its global training office in Orlando. Sailors and Marines will use the system \u2014 called eCASS \u2014 to troubleshoot and repair naval aircraft electronic components at sea and on land. It will allow the Navy to return aircraft to operational status faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Navy expects to deploy eCASS on every U.S. aircraft carrier and at aircraft intermediate maintenance depots. The Navy has ordered 38 eCASS stations and plans to ultimately field more than 300 of these stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
