In the 2017-2018 school year, there were 32 reports of sexual assault, the highest number in more than a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buck relieved the former superintendent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/news\/your-navy\/2014\/07\/23\/naval-academy-welcomes-new-superintendent\/\" target=_blank>Vice Adm. Walter \u201cTed\u201d Carter<\/a>, at a ceremony at the academy on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carter is set to retire after serving as one of the longest-serving superintendents in the school\u2019s history.
