Ware, who was officially charged Aug. 11, faces multiple charges of violation of a lawful order and graft in connection with the scandal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ware is currently the food service officer on the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, which is forward deployed to Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/navytimes\/news\/your-navy\/2017\/11\/17\/two-more-navy-officers-face-court-martial-in-widening-fat-leonard-probe\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/121012-N-DG226-566.jpg.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">Two more Navy officers face court-martial in widening \u2018Fat Leonard\u2019 probe<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">The Navy has charged another two active-duty officers in the growing Fat Leonard corruption scandal, bringing the total number of officers awaiting court-martial in the case to five.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Navy\u2019s charge sheets allege Ware committed multiple offenses by soliciting and accepting gifts over a three-year period, during which he was assigned first to the command ship Blue Ridge and later the carrier George Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In exchange for \u201clodging, transportation and the use of cellular phones, constituting a total gift value of over $1,000,\u201d the charge sheet said that Ware allegedly participated in fraudulent contracting practices for food and other supplies being provided by Glenn Defense Marine Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ware\u2019s Navy career is two months shy of 31-years. He initially joined in March 1987 and was promoted to his current rank of W-4 in June 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ware waived his right to an Article 32 hearing in August and will be traveling from Japan for the trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All Navy cases being convened in what\u2019s officially known as the Glenn Defense Marine Asia case are being tried in Norfolk.
