The Navy has released the names of the 1,653 chief petty officers who will add a senior chief\u2019s star above their chief\u2019s crows and anchors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was another good year for CPOs looking to advance, with 13 percent making the cut. That\u2019s the third best rate over the past two decades, although it dropped slightly from last year\u2019s 14 percent advancement rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past decade, only about 11 percent of chiefs make the leap to E-8, the lowest advancement rate in the enlisted workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year the Navy selected 1,653 senior chiefs from a pool of 12,764 eligible sailors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
