says it plans to sue the Navy over sewage spills that they say have discharged \u201chundreds of thousands of gallons of untreated sewage\u201d into local waters over the last five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kitsap Sun <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitsapsun.com\/story\/news\/2019\/06\/11\/suquamish-tribe-threatens-sue-navy-over-sewage-spills\/1426310001\/\" target=_blank>reports<\/a> the tribe announced Tuesday that it is giving military officials 60 days\u2019 notice of its intent to file a lawsuit under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/laws-regulations\/summary-clean-water-act\" target=_blank>Clean Water Act<\/a>, which prohibits discharging pollutants without a permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another notable discharge includes a spill announced in September by the Navy that leaked an estimated 450,000 gallons of wastewater from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard into Sinclair Inlet during a two-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link
