Matt Comer, spokesman for Naval Service Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois on Wednesday. <\/span>&#8220;His recruit division commander responded with first aid until medical personnel could arrive, but neither could not revive the recruit.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comer said Adams was taken to Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center where he was officially pronounced Adams dead at approximately 5:59 p.m., Central standard time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating, Comer said, adding that the cause of death is still unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Completion of the Battlestations event, a tough all-night evolution, is essentially the final exam recruits must pass before being given the title of &#8220;sailor&#8221; and are allowed to graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Recruit Andrew Adams was an outstanding Sailor,&#8221; said Capt. Doug Pfeifle, commanding officer of Recruit Training Command. &#8220;Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
