No one has been fired, but the staffers \u201chave been moved to other positions while investigations are conducted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday night, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/veterans\/2023\/02\/02\/new-house-vets-chair-plans-focus-on-pact-act-oversight-medical-access\/\" target=\"_blank\">House Veterans\u2019 Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost<\/a>, R-Ill., made public letters he sent to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/military-honor\/salute-veterans\/2023\/11\/08\/mcdonough-wants-va-to-reach-every-veteran-in-the-country\/\" target=\"_blank\">VA Secretary Denis McDonough <\/a>detailing allegations of sexual harassment by an unnamed senior leader in the office. The allegations included threats and disparaging comments about one victim after she refused the advances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bost said both the accusations and lack of immediate response from VA leadership were upsetting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe disturbing allegations brought to my attention by VA whistleblowers suggesting that there has been sexual harassment in VA\u2019s ORMDI office for at least a year are not in line with VA\u2019s mission of being a place where dedicated public servants are able to care for and serve America\u2019s veterans,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cShould these allegations be true, those individuals have no place serving at VA, and they should be disciplined appropriately and immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VA Press Secretary Terrence Hayes said officials are preparing a formal response to Bost\u2019s requests and launching a full investigation into the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cVA is committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and harassment-free environment for all,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cWhenever there are allegations of wrongdoing, we investigate thoroughly and take appropriate action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The office, established in 1998, changed its name two years ago to reflect a new focus on diversity efforts. Its mission statement includes a mandate to \u201cgrow a diverse workforce and cultivate an inclusive work environment, where employees are fully engaged and empowered to deliver the outstanding services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The office\u2019s website also promises employees that staff there can \u201cassist you with resolving conflicts and building a healthy organization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hayes could not say whether other staffers have been reassigned to oversee the office\u2019s work while the investigation is
