Sailors \u2014 still waiting for your PCS travel claim to be processed? Yours may be one of the 7,500 claims currently backlogged at the Navy\u2019s Travel Processing Center, or TPC, in Memphis, Tennessee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a Navy release earlier this month, travel claims are taking twice as long as usual to be settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joint Travel Regulations, or JTR, require that travel claims be processed within 30 days of the date the service member\u2019s travel ended, but due to the backlog, it\u2019s currently taking TPC Memphis 60 to 70 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement cited a number of reasons for the backlog, including IT system failures, natural disaster evacuations, inclement weather base closures and increased travel claim volume resulting from the large number of PCS orders released at the end of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
