Embree was relieved on May 1 and had been the command master chief of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnic.navy.mil\/regions\/cnrsw\/installations\/naf_el_centro.html\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">Naval Air Facility El Centro<\/a> for 11 months, according to base spokesman Kristopher Haugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embree crashed the ATV on March 10 and was found guilty of reckless driving at an administrative hearing in early April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He received a punitive letter of reprimand as punishment, Haugh said in an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Haugh said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, but that \u201cthe investigation did not produce sufficient evidence to charge him with DUI.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embree\u2019s successor has not been identified, Haugh said, and another chief is serving as senior enlisted leader until a relief is determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/navytimes\/news\/your-navy\/2018\/05\/09\/cmc-of-future-destroyer-thomas-hudner-relieved\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/PCU-Hudner.jpg.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">CMC of future destroyer Thomas Hudner relieved<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">Master Chief Stephan J. Raniszewski was relieved in April and faced administrative discipline on charges that included drunk and disorderly conduct and indecent conduct.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naval Air Facility El Centro sits about 15 minutes from the Mexican border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embree is at least the third command master chief to be fired this year, according to information provided by the Navy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Master Chief <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/news\/your-navy\/2018\/02\/22\/seabee-battalion-command-master-chief-fired\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Lefebvre<\/a> was relieved of his position with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 in January due to preliminary results of an ongoing Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigation. Navy officials refused to provide further details on the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Master Chief Stephan J.
