The Pentagon says at least more than a dozen Iranian rockets were fired at two targets in Iraq Tuesday that house U.S. troops. Damage assessments are ongoing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n

President Donald Trump boasted on social media Tuesday night that an Iranian attack on U.S. forces in Iraq <\/a>resulted in little damage<\/a>, and that he will address the nation on the issue Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the evening, Iran launched more than a dozen ballistic missiles at American troop housing facilities at al-Asad and Irbil, in response to last week\u2019s U.S. airstrike which killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani,<\/a> the head of an elite arm of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iranian officials called it \u201cfierce revenge by the Revolutionary Guards.\u201d But in a tweet a few hours after the attack, Trump announced that \u201call is well\u201d with U.S. troops stationed in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
