{"id":59053,"date":"2016-01-31T17:02:56","date_gmt":"2016-01-31T17:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/navytimes\/uncategorized\/2016\/01\/31\/free-leadership-training-offered-to-transitioning-troops-vets-is-the-same-given-to-top-global-execs\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T10:59:45","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T10:59:45","slug":"free-leadership-training-offered-to-transitioning-troops-vets-is-the-same-given-to-top-global-execs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/navytimes\/education-transition\/2016\/01\/31\/free-leadership-training-offered-to-transitioning-troops-vets-is-the-same-given-to-top-global-execs\/","title":{"rendered":"Free leadership training offered to transitioning troops &#038; vets is the same given to top global execs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manpower and tech powerhouses Korn Ferry and Harris Corp.\u00a0are teaming up to provide a free Leveraging Military Leadership Program for troops and recent veterans transitioning to civilian careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The on-site portion of the program runs April 8-10 in Herndon, Virginia, where participants may be immersed in the same leadership development training given by Korn Ferry to boards, CEOs and senior executives of leading global organizations, according to company officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"rte rte-comment\">Offered by Korn Ferry and the Harris Corporation, the program is designed to help service members transition from military to civilian careers. <\/span>Veterans of any rank who left the service in the last two years, as well as currently serving troops transitioning in the next six months, are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those interested can apply online <a href=\"http:\/\/kornferry.formstack.com\/forms\/leveraging_military_leadership_program_application\">here.<\/a>\u00a0Applications must be completed by the end of Feb. 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mashup of the names of founding partners Lester Korn and Richard Ferry, Korn Ferry <span class=\"rte rte-comment\">has been providing <\/span>has provided manpower solutions to companies around the globe for more than 45 years, reporting more than $1 billion in revenue\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harris Corp. is an $8 billion communications giant and government contractor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants will be guided by a team of leadership experts who will guide veterans through a three-month program composed of online and in-person assessments, coaching, instruction, group exercises and lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants will have to cover their own airfare and lodging for the on-site weekend, but &#8220;everything else, including course materials and food, is completely free,&#8221; said Tracy Kurschner, a Korn Ferry spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since launching the program in 2013, more than 250 service members from all branches of the military have taken part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leadership program was &#8220;a truly life-changing experience&#8221; for retired Army Col.
