Former N<\/a>ational Security Adviser Michael Flynn<\/a> had his Twitter account reinstated on Friday as the United States marked the two-year anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twitter suspended the account of the retired Army lieutenant general<\/a> two days after the violent assault on the capitol. Flynn had more than 1 million followers at the time and had used the platform to become a top spreader of false information about the 2020 election. Twitter cited its policy against \u201ccoordinated harmful activity\u201d for the suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flynn noted on a podcast on Thursday that he was still banned from Twitter. Roger Stone, a close ally of Donald Trump <\/a>who now works closely with Flynn, on Friday morning tweeted out a plea to Twitter\u2019s owner, Elon Musk, to reinstate Flynn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flynn\u2019s account became active sometime on Friday. Though he had not sent any new tweets by mid-afternoon, his profile information and tweets through Jan 8, 2021, had become available.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
