The Syrian government denies ever using chemical weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trump administration declaration came after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/flashpoints\/2018\/09\/04\/kremlin-criticizes-trumps-warnings-on-syria\/\" target=_blank>Kremlin criticized Trump\u2019s warnings<\/a> against the expected offensive in the northern province, where Syria\u2019s rebels are holed up and have come under intense airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia has been a key supporter of Assad and complained about militants in Idlib targeting its own facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump on Monday sent a tweet warning the Syrian government and its allies against a \u201creckless attack\u201d on the Idlib province.
