According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\">indictment<\/a>, while serving as commander, Gordon \u201cfraudulently transferred money from the veterans organization\u2019s fundraising and scholarship bank accounts into its primary account before withdrawing the funds for his own use.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dayton AMVETS branch was established in 1944.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutors allege in the indictment that Gordon used the money at local gambling casinos and for hotel and travel expenses. He also spent some of the fraudulently obtained funds when \u201cfrequenting a Dayton-area \u2018gentlemen\u2019s club,\u2019\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\">indictment<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kettering man conducted fraudulent transactions ranging between $200 and $900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Court documents detail 15 separate transactions, some ATM cash withdrawals and other point of sale transactions at various AMVETS locations, American Legion Posts and a Moose Lodge facility in Miamisburg, Ohio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other transactions were made at locations such as Hollywood Gaming, Miami Valley Gaming and LUST Gentlemen\u2019s Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judge signed an arrest warrant for Gordon on Thursday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdoh\/pr\/grand-jury-indicts-former-commander-local-amvets-post-allegedly-embezzling-hundreds\">court documents<\/a>.
