FB: F-16s to the rescue. NC Air Guard F-16s locate capsized boat, lead Coast Guard to rescue of two boaters.
South Carolina Air National Guard F-16s helped rescue two stranded boaters Sunday off the North Carolina coast.
The Vipers, assigned to the 169th Fighter Wing stationed at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, were already training off the coast and assisted the Coast Guard by locating the boat.

The Coast Guard received a radio beacon alert from a 25-foot pleasure boat at about 1 p.m. on Sunday, according to WLTX-TV. The Coast Guard alerted a command center at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, which who contacted the 169th.
The McEntire F-16s were already training off the coast, and were able to locate the boat, the station reported.
After the jets were able to located the boat, the a Coast Guard sent an MH-60 from Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to the scene and found two people sitting on the hull of a capsized boat, according to WLTX. The Coast Guard were able to rescued the boaters, who were in good condition.
