SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. — The 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base is getting Col. Daniel Lasica as its new commander.
In a change-of-command ceremony Friday morning, Col. Stephen Jost relinquished command to Lasica.
The commander of the 9th Air Force, Maj. Gen. Scott Zobrist, presided over the ceremony.
Prior to taking charge of the fighter wing, Lasica was assigned to the Pentagon’s Joint Staff, where he served as the current operations division chief.
At Shaw, Lasica is in charge of Air Force’s largest F-16 combat wing. He will also be responsible for more than 7,000 personnel assigned to the installation in central South Carolina.
Jost has served as the wing commander since May 2014.
