LAWTON, Okla. – A military judge has moved to discharge a Fort Sill soldier convicted of sexually assaulting a child.
The Oklahoman reports Sgt. Brian Bowman was sentenced to 14 months of confinement, reduction to the lowest rank and a bad conduct discharge. The ruling still needs approval by the fort’s commanding general, who could reduce the punishment.
Authorities say Bowman had repeated contact with a girl under the age of 16 at or near Fort Sill and Conway, Missouri. They say he inappropriately touched the girl between July 2012 and April 2013.
Bowman entered the service in February 2007. He is at least the seventh Fort Sill soldier to be convicted at court-martial of sexual misconduct with a child since July 2012.
