EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Officials say a 20-year-old Fort Bliss soldier is dead and her husband has been arrested for questioning in her death.
The El Paso Times(http://bit.ly/1zyossp ) reports Saturday that police wouldn’t say how Pfc. Christina Bukovcik died. Her body was found in an apartment Thursday.
Twenty-two-year-old Geomel Shaffa has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Arizona. He was booked Friday into the Pinal County Jail, in Florence, Arizona. Police say he’ll be extradited to El Paso with bond set at $1 million.
A woman who answered the phone at the jail said she couldn’t disclose if Shaffa has an attorney
A Fort Bliss official told the newspaper that Shaffa was a former soldier in the Army. No further details on his time in the Army were released.
