The Senate has confirmed several promotion nomination lists for the Regular Army and Active Guard and Reserve (Army Reserve) on Dec. 11, triggering a new round of O-6 advancements for officers of the basic branches, Chaplain Corps, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Nurse Corps and Medical Service Corps.
The lists were compiled by boards that met in fiscal 2014.
As a result of the Senate action, the Army has updated its promotion forecasts for December and January as follows:
Effective for December:
Chaplain Corps, Regular Army, five promotions through sequence no. 5.
Nurse Corps, Active Guard and Reserve, one promotion through sequence no. 1.
Medical Service Corps, AGR, four promotions through sequence no. 4.
Judge Advocate General’s Corps, AGR, one promotion through sequence no. 1.
Effective for January:
Operations, Regular Army, 25 promotions through sequence no. 25.
Operations Support, Regular Army, 29 promotions through sequence no. 30.
Force Sustainment, Regular Army, 19 promotions through sequence no. 19.
Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Regular Army, two promotions through sequence no. 1.
Chaplain Corps, Regular Army, four promotions through sequence no. 9.
Medical Service Corps, AGR, two promotions through sequence no. 7.
Judge Advocate General’s Corps, one promotion through sequence no. 2 (completes 2014 list).
Specific promotion effective dates will be announced in orders to be issued by the Human Resources Command.
The Army also has announced a correction to the January forecast for captain promotions in the Regular Army. There will be 190 promotions to O-3 for the Army Competitive Category, which will go through sequence no. 1,265, not no. 1,285 as previously announced.
