Sergeant Major of the Army Dan Dailey recently challenged leaders to PT with their soldiers. Standards have started to slide, and SMA warned that improvements needed to be made.

“PT may not be the most important thing you do that day, but it is the most important thing you do every day,” Dailey says.

Has your unit answered his call for action? Are you getting up before the sun to burn calories and get fit?

Send photos of your unit conducting PT to Army Times staff writer Michelle Tan: mtan@militarytimes.com

She will make sure the SMA sees the pictures. They may also appear in an upcoming issue of Army Times. In your email, please include your unit name, the date the photo was taken and names and ranks of soldiers pictured.

And don’t forget your PT belts!
