The Army plans 748 Regular Army promotions to the ranks of chief warrant officer three through colonel in July, including a final increment of advancements off the 2014 Army Competitive Category lieutenant colonel list.
The monthly forecast authorized by the Office of the Army G-1 in early June calls for 40 ACC promotions to colonel, 47 to lieutenant colonel, 112 to major, 227 to captain, five to the grade of CW5, 28 to CW4 and 66 to CW3.
The last increment of advancements off the 2014 ACC lieutenant colonel list includes 21 promotions for Operations officers and 13 each for members of the Operations Support and Force Sustainment functional categories.
The 2015 list, compiled by a board that met in late January and early February, is pending release and Senate confirmation.
Within the special branches, the July promotion forecast includes five advancements to colonel for the Medical Service Corps, four each to lieutenant colonel for the Judge Advocate General’s Corps and Medical Service Corps, 44 to major for the Medical Service Corps and 24 to captain for the Nurse Corps.
New lieutenant colonel and major lists for the Chaplain corps are pending Senate confirmation.
