The Defense Department has released the name of a Fort Carson soldier who died Friday at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
Pfc. Monterrious Daniel, 19, died in a non-combat related incident. A specific cause of death was not announced.
He was deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Daniel was assigned to the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson, Colorado.
He joined the Army in April 2014 and had been assigned to Fort Carson since October.
Daniel, an ammunition specialist, deployed to Kuwait in February.
“It is always hard to lose a part of our military family,” Fort Carson officials said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Pfc. Daniel’s family and friends during this very difficult time.”
