Selection lists containing the names of officers recommended for promotion to lieutenant colonel and senior NCOs designated for assignment to command sergeant major duties will be released Thursday.
The fiscal 2016 Army Competitive Category lieutenant colonel board that met in November. The promotion nominations for Operations, Operations Support and Force Sustainment officers must be confirmed by the Senate before the Army can schedule promotions.
April 1 promotions to lieutenant colonel reduced the 2015 Operations list to 103 names, the Operations Support list to 86 names and the Force Sustainment roster to 67 names.
The command sergeant major and sergeant major key billet selection list slate was compiled by a board that met in October.The list and that will be released April 19.
The designated sergeants major will be assigned to brigade and battalion positions that become vacant in fiscal 2017. The commander selection lists for these same positions were released April 1.
