Tell us: We want the scoop on Seattle, our next Military City

FILE – In this Jan. 3, 2011 file photo, the state ferry MV Wenatchee sails across Elliott Bay out of Seattle and past the Space Needle as the Cascade Mountains are seen behind. Officials have warned for years about the chronic shortchanging of the ferries, and they’re wondering now whether a recent series of mishaps is just coincidence, or a more troubling sign of how deeply the state has cut into a transportation system that is a major economic driver and a lifeline for many communities. After a stop down South, Military Times heads to the Pacific Northwest for its next Military City, and we want your help.

Everybody knows about the Space Needle and Starbucks, but if you’ve lived in or been stationed near Seattle, we’re after your boots-on-the-ground intel.

What’s the best hiking trail? The best restaurant for families at noon, or for drinks at midnight? The best day trip outside city limits? Maybe a military discount worth passing along to others in uniform?

Send your recommendations to klilley@militarytimes.com; they may appear in an upcoming article.
