Hamas has claimed to have recovered a crashed Israeli unmanned aerial vehicleUAV and then turned it against its makers.
After the drone allegedly crashed on July 22, “security checks were conducted, and the systems and technologies installed in the drone were examined, and then the unit rebuilt it and put the drone to use in the service of the al-Qassam Brigades,” according to Hamas, and quoted on Israeli news site Ynet
The Elbit Skylark I UAV is the Israeli military’s smallest UAV and is used by the Israeli artillery corps, as well as by battalion and division commanders, according to Ynet. Several have crashed in the Gaza Strip and West Bank over the last several years.
The Israel Defense Force said it as examining the Hamas claim.
