The Navy has awarded General Dynamics Information Technologies a $52 million contract to provide cybersecurity, IT software and systems engineering services to Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and Navy Information Forces over five years .
Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command focuses on the Navy’s five war-fighting disciplines; anti-submarine warfare; special warfare; mine warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and fleet operations. The command also contributes to war-fighting support disciplines such as navigation, precise time and astrometry, maritime operations and aviation operations.
The single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract’s scope will also include work in meteorology, oceanographic and geospatial data systems.
Work on the contract will be conducted in the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi; Monterey, California; and Washington, D.C.
“General Dynamics has a highly experienced team who understands IT architecture, engineering and meteorology, oceanographic and geospatial data,” said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Health and Civilian Solutions division, in a news release.
“We will continue our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Navy to provide predictive and current data, information and services that enables them to operate safely and effectively across the complete range of military operations.”
