General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited has been awarded a £135 million pound (US $194.6 million) contract for British tactical radios.
Under the contract, GDUK will upgrade and enhance the Bowman tactical radio system, according to a company news release.
“These include the roll-out of approximately 12,000 new data terminals and an updated version of the Battle Management System,” the company said.
“This contract will replace the data terminals and update software across the Bowman system to ensure ease of use, more rapid and robust data services, and improved interoperability,” said Brig. Richard Spencer, head of the Ministry of Defence’s Battlefield and Tactical Communications and Information System delivery team.
