Controp Precision Technologies has been awarded a contract to provide sensors for patrol vehicles.
The contract was awarded by a NATO nation that Controp did not specify. A company news release did say that 90 of its SHAPO electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR)
sensors would be used for the NATO nation’s patrol vehicles.
“The system maintains low SWaP [size, weight and power] and superb gyro-stabilization, which are crucial factors when dealing with patrol vehicles on rough terrain since the vehicles are typically overloaded with various sensors and other systems,” said Controp marketing vice president Johnny Carni. “These features make the SHAPO payload the most cost effective option when compared to other similar systems on the market.”
