French manufacturer Sagem and Mexican company Seguritech are teaming up to develop UAVs for the Mexican government.
The partners will develop “cutting-edge technology solutions for defense and homeland security applications, including drone systems, airborne surveillance and command and control,” according to a news release from French firm Safran, which owns Sagem. The project will be based upon Safran’s Patroller, a one-ton UAV with endurance of 20 hours.
“The alliance of Sagem, a high-tech international company and part of Safran, a tier-1 supplier of systems and equipment for aerospace, defense and security, and Seguritech, a leading Mexican security company, confirms Mexico’s potential in aerospace, and its growing role as a key export player in the North and South American markets for governmental administrations, institutions and operators,” Safran said.
