PARIS – A Thales board meeting has been pushed back to Thursday morning from Wednesday, when the directors of the defense electronics company are due to gather to decide a successor to Chairman Jean-Bernard Levy, French media reported.
The board had initially planned to meet on Monday, then moved to Wednesday, and will now meet on Thursday so the French government and Dassault Aviation, the leading stockholders, can select the top executive, website La Tribune reported.
If the board fails to reach an agreement, an interim chairman might be named, Le Monde reported. Finance director Pascal Bouchiat or General Secretary Philippe Logak might be appointed to the interim position, the afternoon daily reported.
Levy is expected on Wednesday to be confirmed by the government as chairman for state-owned utility giant, Electricité de France. ■
