The Department of Energy is getting a new CIO starting Monday, bringing in an intelligence and technology expert from the administration’s Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Michael Johnson, assistant director of intelligence programs at OSTP National Security and International Affairs Division, will be starting at Energy on March 9, a department official confirmed.
Johnson will be taking over for acting CIO Donald Adcock, who has led the agency’s IT shop since the departure of former CIO Bob Brese in September. Adcock is expected to return to his position as deputy CIO.
