Keeping up with the changing technology landscape is difficult. Doing so in a federal environment — with volumes of policies and regulations — is that much harder.
To help agencies ensure they are meeting all mandates and acquisition laws, the Federal CIO Council created an online database that compiles all policies relevant to IT.
The new IT Policy Library is “a resource intended to provide a comprehensive collection of IT reporting requirements and actions for federal agencies and OMB,” the site reads.
Database: IT Policy Library
The database includes 83 specific documents, with bulleted agency requirements enumerated for each. The documents range from OMB and presidential policy memos to laws like Clinger-Cohen and the DATA Act.
The documents can also be sorted by type — executive order, OMB circular, policy review, etc. — and whether reporting or agency action are required.
The library will be updated regularly as new policies and requirements are put in place.
The CIO Council and OMB are looking for feedback on the new site and users are encouraged to comment using the form at the bottom of the page.
