The Department of Education is looking for a new director of information assurance services and chief information security officer to work under the CIO.
The IAS director acts as the principle advisor to the CIO on data integrity, privacy issues and ensuring proper and timely access to the department’s information and resources, as well as compliance with federal regulations.

The director is also the point person for the department’s cybersecurity, including an annual budget report on security programs and goals.
The job offers a salary range of $121,956 to $183,300 and is open to members of the Senior Executive Service and those who have made it through the SES candidate development program.
Applicants who are not a member of SES must include with their application a two-page summary explaining their experience in five executive core qualifications:

- Leading People;
- Results Driven;
- Business Acumen; and
- Building Coalitions.
Candidates also have to supply detailed answers to two questions on mandatory technical qualifications.
