The Federal Communication Commission’s IT department began the agency’s technology transformation efforts with a lift and shift of its servers from a FCC warehouse to a third-party data center in September.
The move was not without incident, but the team was able to pull through and take a significant step in realigning the FCC’s IT infrastructure.
Bray said the move included “more than 200 servers, 400 applications and thousands of cables.”
“Now that we’ve moved our servers to a commercial data center, we’ll plan to move more FCC systems into the cloud and upgrade their scalability and interoperability,” he said.
“The movie themes capture the spirit of diverse teams tackling hard issues, taking risks, overcoming difficult obstacles and succeeding despite the odds,” said Bray, who originally made the videos himself to highlight the work and thank the FCC employees and contractors that made the move possible.
