Tim Dirks, the former director of Human Resources for the Department of Energy, will serve as interim president of the Senior Executives Association while a search for a permanent president is ongoing. He takes over for Carol Bonosaro, who retired in October after 29 years as president. SEA announced Dirks’ appointment Nov. 10.
Barbara Pabotoy, chair of the SEA board, noted that Dirks was a good choice for the SEA, primarily for his 32 years of federal experience, serving in the Smithsonian Institution, the Office of Personnel Management, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
“Tim is an exemplary senior executive with extensive public and private sector experience,” she said in a statement. “He will serve the Association well, implementing our strategic approach to support Senior Executive Service and Senior Professional employees as the basis for efficient and effective government management.”
