An internal realign within the General Service Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service has expanded the focus of the Integrated Technology Service and changed its name to the Office of Information Technology Category.
Following the reorganization, the office will continue to be a mission enabler for agencies by delivering flexible solutions, driving improvements and fostering best practices through direct support of the Office of Management and Budget’s governmentwide category management initiative, according to a blog post by ITC Assistant Commissioner Mary Davie.
ITC acquisition subject matter, category and solutions support experts will work to define requirements, reduce procurement action lead time, improve data transparency, apply data analytics and support category management to ease business processes, reduce the cost of IT ownership and make emerging technologies available governmentwide, Davie said.
New divisions within ITC giving focused support, coordinating activities and functions and helping gain operational efficiencies include the Customer Engagement Division, Supplier Management and Compliance Division, Innovation Division and Acquisition and Category Management Support Divisions.
“I’ve already seen positive outcomes from our technology and acquisition subject-matter experts working together to generate great value for the government and taxpayers,” said Davie, who plans to post further blogs looking at insights and achievements from IT hardware, security, services, software and telecommunications subcategories.
