White assumed command of the unit on July 29, 2016, after serving as commanding officer of the Combat Engineer Instruction Company at the Marine Corps Engineer School, according to a Marine Corps story.
“I can’t imagine being a part of a better unit,” White said in the story. “I will do my best every day to maintain this squadron.”
Glavy has fired two commanders in the aviation community in as many months. Lt. Col. Jennifer Grieves was relieved of duty as commander of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 for not properly reporting an off-duty incident, which is being investigated by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
Grieves was arrested on Dec. 16 and charged with simple assault in connection with a domestic incident, police said.
