A Turkish man masquerading as a bodyguard has assassinated Russia’s ambassador to Turkey in defiance and revenge for the war in Aleppo. Disturbing video has been released showing the murder as it happened, ambassador Andrey Karlov, was shot and killed in Ankara Monday and according to witnesses the gunman shouted furiously that the murder was “revenge” for a Russian bombing that killed civilians in Aleppo. Karlov was at a city gallery near the U.S. Embassy attending the opening of a new exhibit. The assailant fired on Karlov at close range.
