During a raid against an ISIS target in eastern Afghanistan Wednesday, at least two U.S. military service members were killed and another wounded. The operation was near Achin, a district in the south of Nangarhar province. This is where the U.S. previously dropped the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used to destroy an ISIS tunnel complex. Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said “[the] identities, service, and unit affiliations are being withheld pending next of kin notification.” Afghanistan remains hindered by violence as the Taliban and ISIS fight over territory and against government forces.
