Enrollment at Vincennes University has reached an all-time high, and officials credit military members with helping it set the record.
Kristi Deetz, senior director of external relations, says the junior college in Vincennes, Indiana, is educating just over 19,200 students, about 1,000 more than last year. And the amount of full-time students has grown by a few hundred to around 10,530 students system-wide.
Deetz said the programs that attract nontraditional students, such as the Early College, dual-credit and military programs, are responsible for driving the school’s enrollment growth.
VU President Dick Helton said the school has gone the extra mile over the last few years to develop programs geared toward military members.
