WASHINGTON – Survivors and families of those killed in the Washington Navy Yard shootings will gather for a ceremony of remembrance.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday evening, one year after the shootings that killed 12 victims.
Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer will speak to honor those who died, including three of his constituents. The congressman also will thank first responders and law enforcement. Mayor Vincent Gray also is scheduled to attend the ceremony.
The gunman, a former Navy reservist, was fatally shot by police.
