Excitement is cresting across the force Wednesday as commands began notifying the first classes chosen to join the Navy’s proudest rank: chief petty officer.
Roughly 4,200 first classes will be getting that word this week. This announcement launches the annual chief’s season, as the selectees get an arduous introduction into the responsibilities and traditions of the chief’s mess.
On Thursday, Navy Times will post the complete list of active-duty chief selectees for fiscal 2016, so stay tuned.
