A submarine officer has been charged with sexual assault of a child and will face a court-martial marital in June, officials with Navy Region Mid-Atlantic told Military.com.
Capt. Alan Damian Dorrbecker, a submarine warfare officer assigned to Submarine Forces Atlantic, has been accused of arranging to meet and have sex with a child under the age of 16. He allegedly sent her a series of inappropriate messages that contained “graphic sexual content.”
Dorrbecker is accused of arranging meetings with the victim from his government-issued Blackberry phone, according to the charge sheets, and was also accused of meeting and attempting sexual acts with the victim.
The alleged crimes took place when Dorrbecker was assigned to Naval Forces Europe in Naples, Italy, according to the report.
According to his record of service, Dorrbecker has previously been assigned to the office of the Chief of Naval Operations and before that commanded the fast-attack submarine Greeneville.
The court-martial is to begin in June, according to the report.
