The U.S. Naval Academy triumphed at the 17th annual Cyber Defense Exercise last week. This is the fourth time the U.S. Naval Academy has won. The U.S. Military Academy won last year.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and the Royal Military College of Canada also competed in the event, which took place last week and was hosted by NSA Cybersecurity Operations.
Students work to build, secure and defend their networks from adversarial scenarios staged by NSA and military experts. Points were awarded to teams based on successful steps they accomplished in areas of reverse engineering/malware analysis, host/network forensics, offensive ethical hacking and the UAV challenge.
